Who We Are

Founded in 2007, the Maryland District of Columbia Wireless Association ("MDDCWA") is a non-profit industry organization consisting primarily of individuals and businesses who are involved with the deployment, operation and maintenance of wireless networks. Firms, such as cellular carriers, tower companies, project management consultants, architecture and engineering firms, surveyors, regulatory consultants, general contractors and law firms are represented.

The MDDCWA provides a forum for wireless telecommunications industry representatives to collaborate on various issues, including infrastructure, zoning and regulatory matters. Our organization also allows the wireless industry in Maryland and the District of Columbia to speak with a unified voice on issues MDDCWA deems appropriate to address.

The Board of Directors of MDDCWA is made up of the officers of the association and the chairs of the various committees. These committees reflect the interests of the MDDCWA membership and the purpose of the organization. They include Regulatory, Membership/Social, Public Relations, Homeland Security/Public Safety and Steering.

MDDCWA sponsors luncheon meetings several times a year for its members. At these meetings, the Board reports on the business of the organization, and programs are held which include speakers on subjects of interest to the wireless industry in general and the members in particular. These subjects may include, but are certainly not limited to regulatory matters, zoning and land use issues, technological developments affecting network deployment, legal aspects of wireless industry new services or products, and/or updates on general business matters related to wireless networks.

In addition to the luncheons, the Maryland District of Columbia Wireless Association sponsors several social events during the year, such as the annual MDDCWA Golf Classic, which cultivates relationships among the members of the wireless community.
